The Seattle Sounders FC put on an offensive clinic against the San Jose Earthquakes in an entertaining MLS match.
The Sounders scored five goals in the first half and added two more in the second half to win 7-1.
Raul Ruidiaz led the way for the Sounders with two goals, while Jordan Morris, Cristian Roldan, Nicolas Lodeiro, Fredy Montero, and Xavier Arreaga also scored.
Seattle Sounders FC in control from the start
The Sounders were in control of the match from the start, and they took the lead in the 10th minute when Ruidiaz scored his first goal.
Morris made it 2-0 in the 15th minute, and Roldan extended the lead to 3-0 in the 20th minute.
The Earthquakes finally got on the board in the 25th minute when Chris Wondolowski scored, but Lodeiro restored the Sounders' three-goal lead in the 30th minute.
Seattle made it 5-1 in the 35th minute and 6-1 in the 40th. Montero added a goal in the second half to put the game away.
The win keeps the Sounders in first place in the Western Conference, while the Earthquakes remain in last place.
The Sounders will visit the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 25, and the Earthquakes will host the Houston Dynamo on July 26.
