Stella Mae Safreed, 70, of Wheeling, WV passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Liza's Place, Valley Hospice, Wheeling. She was born in Wheeling, WV on March 8, 1954, daughter of the late James Willard and Helen Louise (Stiner) Carnahan.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Safreed; one son, Robert Allen Safreed Jr., and one brother, James Robert Carnahan.

She dedicated her life to her family.

Surviving are one daughter, Karen Kay (Jay) Wilson of Wheeling; one son, James David (Janet) Safreed of Moundsville, WV; two sisters, Kathy (Larry) Douglass of Wheeling; and Linda (Ed) Martin of Mansfield, OH; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242-2383) on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11 am with Pastor Randy Workman officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
